Pick your language (English, Greek or German) and difficulty — easy, medium or hard — from the top islands, then tap NEW to generate a fresh crossword.
The ring in the top bar shows how much of the grid you have filled in, as a live percentage.
This is a Scandinavian crossword: the clues live inside the grid, in the pale clue squares. Arrows show the direction of each answer, and the clue text tells you how many letters it has.
Tap or click a letter box to select a word — the whole word lights up. Tap a plain unused square or an empty spot outside the grid to clear the highlight.
Keyboard mode: type on a physical keyboard or use the on-screen letter pad. The clue you are on is shown in the strip above the grid and as a large magnified card while you play.
Pen mode: switch the input mode to the pen from the bar at the bottom of the screen, then write a letter directly on the focused box with a stylus or your finger. A moment after you stop, the app recognizes your handwriting — and your handwritten strokes stay on the cell, just like in a printed magazine.
Zoom the grid with a two-finger pinch (or ctrl + scroll wheel) and pan freely in any direction. Double-tap an empty spot to reset the zoom.
If a letter is not recognized, nothing is entered and your strokes are cleared — simply write again. Wrong letter? Use Undo to remove the last entry, or rewrite over the box with the pen.
Quick corrections: double-tap a letter box to erase just that letter, or press and hold a letter box to erase its whole word at once. Both gestures work with the pen and with a simple tap, they also clear hint-revealed letters, and the word or box stays selected afterwards.
Everything the erase gestures clear can be brought back with Undo, one step at a time — including hint-revealed letters and their green color.
Need help? Hints can reveal a letter for you, and you can check the grid to have wrong letters highlighted.
The timer tracks your solving time; pause or reset it from the timer island.
Your unfinished puzzle is saved automatically on this device. Open the burger menu and choose CONTINUE LAST PUZZLE to pick up where you left off.
Also in the burger menu: SETTINGS lets you switch pen sounds and effects on or off, and choose a background music track (Calm or Focus).
